16/10/2016 at London Film Festival – Part 7 of 7

The closing night gala of the film festival was the film – ‘Free Fire‘ (2016). Written and directed by Ben Wheatley who directed Tom Hiddleston in High-Rise (2015). I would have liked to meet the recent Oscar winner, Brie Larson For the best actress for Room (2015) but she was not attending the gala due to currently filming her upcoming movies. Never mind. I will meet her someday in the future. Anyway I got eight pictures from the gala. Here they are:

Sam Riley (Control, On the Road and Maleficent) came towards me and he posed with me for this photo.

I thanked him. Sam was followed by Armie Hammer’s wife, the television personality, Elizabeth Chamers. She greeted everyone. She signed autographs and posed with the fans for selfies.

Armie Hammer also appeared on the red carpet but I already have picture with him. Elizabeth was followed by the Northern Irish actor, Michael Smiley (The World’s End, The Lobster and The Other Boleyn Girl). He’s friendly with everyone. He posed with me for this photo.

Michael was followed by Babou Ceesay. He posed with me for this photo.

I thanked him. I honestly didn’t watch him in ’71 (2014) and Eye in the Sky (2016) but I might watch them soon. Ceesay was followed by Enzo Cilenti (Game of Thrones, and The Martian). He came towards me then he posed with me for photo.

Enzo was then followed by the Irish actor, Cillian Murphy. He is friendly and greeted everyone. He posed with me for this photo.

I thanked him. The actor and the British American director, Christopher Nolan have been collaborating on films since: Batman film series, Inception and the upcoming movie, Dunkirk (2017). Murphy was followed by the director, Ben Wheatley. He came towards me and he posed with me for this photo.

Ben was followed by the South African actor, Sharlto Copley (District 9 and Chappie). He took his time signing autographs and taking selfies with the fans.

The film festival ended and I have a lot of good photos for my collection. My highlight of the film festival was meeting Ryan Gosling in 2016. I will definitely type my new blog post about my review of 2016 before the end of year. Anyway I will return to the film festival next year!

14/10/2016 at London Film Festival – Part 6 of 7

On Friday, in the early evening I went to the film headline gala: Nocturnal Animals at the the Odeon cinema in Leicester Square. The film is written and directed by the legendary fashion designer, Tom Ford. This is his second film after his film directoral debut of ‘A Single Man’ (2009). I haven’t see it yet but I added it in my list on Netflix, I will watch it someday. The cast line up looked good: Amy Adams, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Armie Hammer and Tom Ford are attends the gala but Jake Gyllenhaal was not going to appear. I already met him at Broadway’s stage door a few years ago. I hoped to get picture with Amy Adams because I have failed three times in the past.

At the gala, a car arrived and Tom Ford stepped out. He immediately greeted the fans. While signing autographs and posing with them for selfies. I took photo:

I thanked him. Ford was followed by Aaron Taylor-Johnson who greeted everyone just as Tom Ford had. He posed with me for a photo:

It was good to see him again. I last saw him at the Avengers: Age of Ultron – European premiere last year. I am gutted that I didn’t take a picture with Amy Adams for the fourth time! Meanwhile Armie Hammer (The Social Network) came towards me and he posed with me for a photo:

I thanked him for this photo. I know it was not best quality but better than nothing. Armie was followed by Colin Firth who attended the gala I was surprised. He posed with me for a photo:

I did not expect him to be there. I thanked him for this amazing picture. I’m still typing my last post from the film festival’s closing night gala of ‘Free Fire’ (2016) coming soon.

13/10/2016 at London Film Festival – Part 5 of 7

I was on my way to the film headline gala: Their Finest (2016) at the Odeon cinema in Leicester Square after I finished my work early. It was worth doing. At the gala, the first actors to appear were on the red carpet: Bill Nighy, Gemma Arterton and Sam Claflin. The first to come over to the fans was the actor and wife of Sam Claflin, Laura Haddock. She came over – and was friendly. She posed with me for a photo:

I know her as Alison alongside Simon Bird (as Will Mackenzie) in The Inbetweeners Movie (2011). Also she appeared in Guardians of the Galaxy (2014). Laura was followed by Gemma Arterton (Quantum of Solace). She greeted everyone while signing autographs and posing with the fans for selfies. Here we are:

Gemma was followed by the legendary Bill Nighy who came towards to the fans after he stopped by the press. While signing autographs and posing with them for selfies – I took this photo with him:

I was happy with this upgraded picture which is much better that the first picture when I met him at West End’s stage door few years ago. I thanked him. Bill was followed by Sam Claflin (The Hunger Game film series). He came towards me then he posed with me for a photo:

Finally I got this picture with him after two failed attempts from the previous premieres. I thanked him for this picture. The end of the film gala. It was not bad. I am still typing my remaining posts from the film festival more soon.

9/10/2016 at London Film Festival – Part 4 of 7

On Sunday, I went to the film strand gala: Bleed for This (2016). Executive produced by Martin Scorsese, it is based on the true story of the world champion boxer Vinny ‘Paz’ Pazienza. This drama recounts one of the most unlikely returns in the sporting history. The gala took place at Embankment Garden cinema. I took photograph:

It was a new cinema for the film festival only. I hoped to meet the actor (as Vinny ‘Paz’ Pazienza) from the film, Miles Teller (Whiplash, War Dogs and Divergent) again, because I have a little blurry picture with him when I met him at the film festival’s gala: Whiplash (2014) for the first time. I hope to get a upgraded picture with him soon.

The gala began, the cast from the film arrived on the red carpet. First Miles Teller came towards me and he posed with me for a photo:

This photo is much better that the first picture from a few years ago. I thanked him. The actor was followed by Aaron Eckhart (as Harvey Dent/Two-Face in The Dark Knight) who was friendly as he posed with me for a photo:

I know this photo is not the best but it is better than nothing. Aaron was followed by HBO’s Game of Thrones actor, Ciaran Hinds who greeted everyone, while signing autographs and posing with the fans for selfies:

The fourth day of the film festival was not bad but I was mostly happy with the upgraded picture with Miles Teller. I hope to get a better picture with Aaron Eckhar, whenever I meet him again.

What did you know?

  • Miles Teller dropped out of the film project of La La Land to pursue another film project- Bleed for This
  • Ryan Gosling replaced him in La La Land during the film pre-production last year.

This is very interesting. I expect to see both the films when the films are released this winter.

8/10/2016 at London Film Festival – Part 3 of 7

In the morning, the BFI tweeted that I found out Ryan Gosling did show up to everyone at LFF screening of La La Land at the Odeon cinema in Leicester Square.

The night before I didn’t understand why he wasn’t going to be at the screening. I realised he was recently busy due to filming and production of The Blade Runner sequel (2017) in Budapest, Hungary. I guess he had a day off from the film production.

I researched it on social medias and immediately decided at the last minutes to try and meet him somewhere in Mayfair. Around 2pm, I arrived and recognised some autograph dealers were waiting at outside of a hotel in between Green Park and Piccadilly. They told me, Ryan Gosling and the director, Damian Chazelle (I met him yesterday) were inside for the Q/A the small screening of La La Land. After 45 minutes, a car drove up and waited outside. There were no PAs outside but there were three security men. We saw Ryan Gosling came out of a hotel after the Q/A finished. He signed autographs for the fans but I didn’t take photo with him because his agent said to me, “No photos”. Unfair! His agent pulled him into a car. One of autograph dealers called out and told him, “He’s deaf. He wants a picture with you.” The actor saw me and he jumped out and amazingly greeted me – then he posed with me for photo:

This brilliant picture made my day! I thanked him for what he did. He is an awesome person. I thanked the autograph dealer who helped me. The actor returned into the car and drove off.

Then I was on my way to the film headline gala: Manchester by the Sea. The first actress from the film, Michelle Williams but I didn’t take a photo with her because she was signing autographs and then she went to meet the press. Never mind.

The actor from the film, Casey Affleck (the young brother of Ben Affleck – I hope to meet him in the future) came out of a car and immediately greeted everyone. While signing autographs and posing for selfies, he came towards to me and he posed with me:

Casey was followed by the screenwriter (Analyze This and Gangs of New York), playwright (This Is Our Youth) and director, Kenneth Lonergan. He is friendly and greeted everyone. He posed with me for a photo:

I know it’s blurry but better than nothing.

The end of 3 day. This blog post is much better than 2nd day of the film festival because I finally met Ryan Gosling at the last minutes!

6/10/2016 at London Film Festival – Part 1 of 7

I attended to the 60th BFI London Film Festival for the fourth time. I first went in 2013. I went to the film headline gala: A Monster Calls at the Odeon cinema in Leicester Square on the first day. I would like to meet Sigourney Weaver and Liam Nesson but Felicity Jones can’t made it due to the press tour of her upcoming film,’Inferno'(2016). I was gutted not to see her.

At the film headline gala, the first to appear was the young actor from the film, Lewis MacDougall. He came over to the fans and was friendly and greeted everyone. He posed with me for a photo:

I know about him. He appeared in Pan (2015) for his film debut but I haven’t see it yet. Lewis was followed by the legendary Sigourney Weaver. As she came towards me after she finished the press, I politely asked her for a photo. She posed with me:

I was thrilled to meet her (Thanks for picture). I am a big fan of her films: Alien (1979) and Aliens (1986) which my uncle uncle introduced me to on DVD in 2006 when I was a teenager. Ten years later – I finally met her!

Unfortunately Liam Nesson did not appear on the red carpet. Never mind. Next time. My first day of the film festival was not bad. Now next the second day of the LFF.

18/10/2015 at LFF: Closing night gala of Steve Jobs

It was last day of the film festival for this year.

I went to the gala of Danny Boyle’s Steve Jobs with my friends. The film director returned to close the festival for the third time, in the past – following Slumdog Millionaire (2008), and 127 Hours (2010).

The film tells you the three stories: product launches – the Macintosh in 1984, The NeXT Cube in 1988, and the iMac in 1998.

The comedian/actor, Seth Rogen was not attending the gala due to currently filming Bad Neighbours 2 (2016). I hope that I would like to meet him in the future.

Anyway the film is highly been given 4 and 5 stars reviews from the Telluride and New York film festivals. I have to wait until the film will be release this November 2015.

At the gala, Jeff Daniels arrived and immediately signed autographs but he still refuses to pose with fans for pictures which is very annoying. I already have his autograph last month.

Michael Stahlbarg was greeting fans. I politely asked him for picture then he posed with me:

I know him from the lead role in the Coen Brothers’s ‘A Serious Man’ (2010) after which he became a well known screen actor. Also he played the infamous Jewish mobster and gambler, Arnold Rothstein during the Prohibition era in HBO TV series, Boardwalk Empire (2010 – 2014). I watched all the seasons. Anyway I thanked him for a picture. He was very gracious with all his fans.

I didn’t get Danny Boyle’s autograph or picture because he was very busy with the media. Also I was very close to getting a picture with Kate Winslet but her agent pulled her away to the media. I was gutted. Next time?

Finally Michael Fassbender came towards me and I took a selfie:

He is the nicest actor. He and the film director, Steve McQueen (Not confuse another the old famous actor, Steve McQueen in 1960s and 1970s) have been collaborating on films since 2008: The Hunger, Shame and 12 Years a Slave. He also plays Erik Lensherr/Magneto alongside Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) in X-Men series.

Which will open next years, film festival!

13/10/2015 at LFF: The Lobster – part 4 of 5

The Lobster received highly postive reviews from Cannes Film Festival last May 2015. The strange story is about the near future, a dystopia, where The laws of The government are that people must live as couples. When they are no longer ‘in love’ they are taken to The Hotel, where they must find a romantic partner in 45 days. If they failed, they are to transformed into an animals and released into the woods. I am waiting for this film to be released with subtitles!

At the gala, Olivia Coleman (Broadchurch on ITV and Hot Fuzz) arrived and she was greeting the fans. I took a selfie:

Then the one of Ireland’s rising stars in Hollywood, the actor, Colin Farrell arrived and immediately began signing autographs and posed with fans for selfies.

He came towards me, I politely asked him for a picture and he posed:

I thanked him for selfie. I easily know him from many films: In Bruges, Miami Vice, Phone Booth and recently the HBO TV series, the second season of True Decetive (I need to catch up and watch it soon). I already have his autograph two years ago (Click here).

Rachel Weisz arrived but I didn’t get her autograph because she was busying with the media. Next time?

11/10/2015 at LFF: Black Mass – part 3 of 5

Black Mass directed by Scott Cooper (Crazy Heart), a crime drama in Boston joins the ranks of ‘The Departed’ and legendary TV series, The Wire. The true story on based is about the infamous Irish American gangster, Jimmy ‘Whitey’ Bulger (Johnny Depp) who becomes an informat for FBI and his brother, Billy Bulger (Benedict Cumberbatch), a political rising star on track to become a state senator.

I attended the film gala I saw around 300 fans because Johnny Depp is very popular. There were loads of women are huge fans of the attractive actor, 52 years old (If you don’t believe his real age, go to check his age on Wikipedia or IMDb). It was crazy.

I was very luckly because I was in the front of the pen, next to the wheelchairs area opposite Odeon cinema. It was not a bad place to be.

The gala began, Benedict Cumberbatch arrived. He was very busying with the media.

Then the film’s director, Scott Cooper was greeting the fans. I took this picture:

I didn’t remember him but he played a small part in Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me (1999) but I almost recognised him when I watched as Lt. Joseph Morrison in Gods and Generals (2003). Which was a prequel to the 1993 classic “Gettysburg” when I researched it on IMDb.

Finally, Johnny Depp and his wife, Amber Heard (I met her at a premiere at end of June) arrived on the red carpet. The fans screamed when they saw him!

When Johnny Depp finished with the media he immediately began signing his autographs and posing with fans for pictures. His agents were annoyed and they said to us, “No photos. Autographs only”.

Johnny didn’t listen to them. He quickly posed with me and I took this selfie:

The picture made me happy. I already love it. Also I got his autograph:

I thanked him. Meanwhile Benedict Cumberbatch finished with the media and I was very close to getting a picture with him but it didn’t happen this time. But I was still happy that I got picture with Johnny Depp.

8/10/2015 at LFF: Trumbo – part 2 of 5

Following the post opening night gala. The upcoming film gala is Trumbo. Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad and Argo) plays Dalton Trumbo, the famous Hollywood screenwriter who was blacklisted after refusing to testify before the House Commmitte on Un-American Activities in 1947.

I always want to meet Bryan Cranston because I am huge fan of the TV series, Breaking Bad (2008 to 2013). In fact, I finished watching the TV on DVD around two months two years ago.

The gala began, the casts from the film arrived. I didn’t know that the actor, John Goodman was going to be here but I got three autographs from a few years ago. I failed to get a picture to get a picture with him. Next time?

Bad news, I was gutted that I failed to get a picture with Bryan Cranston. But he gave me the thumbs up when he saw my t-shirt with Walter White/the drug lord, Heisenberg from Breaking Bad. His hand gesture was “Awesome”. I will never forget it. Next time I’m definitely going to meet him again in the future.

Then the legendary actress, Dame Helen Mirren arrived.

Her hat looks beautiful! I still have not forgotten that I gave her my felt tip pen for her autograph my book and she forgot to give it back! That was two years ago.
